St. Mary Medical Center, one of Bucks County’s largest health providers, is working on expanding the MRI facility at its sprawling Middletown campus, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times.
On Sept. 8, the Middletown supervisors unanimously approved land development plans for the 1,600-square-foot facility.
“It’s fairly small relative to the entirety of the medical center,” said Jim Ennis, Middletown’s director of building and zoning.
The expansion will be attached to the existing MRI building, according to Paul Schmoll, civil engineer for the project.
It is expected that the building will be completed in about a year, toward the end of 2026.
“It will probably be another couple months before we get the final approval for the building, and after that, it could be six to nine months for construction,” said Schmoll. “There’s a big need for this.”
