La Grange in Yardley Hopes to Become New Bucks County Food Destination

La Grange, a recently opened French brasserie in Yardley, hopes to become a premier food destination in Bucks County.

La Grange, which opened its doors in Yardley this spring as a French brasserie, is positioning to be a premier food destination in Bucks County, writes Craig LaBan for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Executive chef Peter Woolsey, the former chef-owner of well-regarded Bistrot La Minette in Queens Village, has already prepared a menu featuring classic French comfort foods.

“It’s kind of analogous to an American diner where you know what to expect before you go,” said Woolsey.

The best brasseries are vibrant community hubs, such as Stephen Starr’s Parc in Philadelphia.

“Parc is exactly the vibe we’re going for,” said co-owner Marc Masso.

He explained this means a lively vibe, vintage style and accessible appeal.

Masso opened La Grange with his father, Vincent Masso, and commercial kitchen designer Michael Geonnotti.

Designed like a vintage European brasserie, the space is built into the restored stone bones of a historic barn. The partners invested $3.5 million to renovate and add French touches, including bentwood chairs, marble tabletops and the name in brass letters across black-and-white penny tile under floating tin ceilings.

The menu and design should position La Grange to win a place in Bucks County residents’ hearts.
