Philly Sports Trips has transformed the art of sports travel and tailgating into a multimillion-dollar enterprise, all from its base in Montco’s Blue Bell, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Maple Glen native and former aerospace engineer Vince Rizzuto founded the company in 2017 to take Philadelphia sports fans on unforgettable game-day adventures. Trips include everything: transportation by bus or plane, hotel stays, game tickets, and exclusive parties. The hallmark of the experience is the tailgate. The pregame party serves everything from filet mignon sandwiches to pig roasts and bacon-wrapped scallops.
What started with two buses and 300 Eagles fans now draws 8,000 fans a year on 50 trips, with 2025 revenue projected at $8 million. Parent brand TrueFan Travel has landed official partnerships with the Ravens, Browns, Lions, and the Union. They have also secured beverage deals with the Kelce Brothers’ Garage Beer and Rob McElhenney’s Four Walls Whiskey.
The company is expanding to 18 markets by 2028 and offering international trips to Brazil, Germany, Ireland, and Australia.
Last season’s trip to New Orleans for the Super Bowl was their most expensive trip yet, with packages ranging between $12,000 and $15,000.
