Locals recently voted Jo-Jo’s Ice Cream & Water Ice in Levittown as Bucks County’s favorite ice cream spot in a poll conducted by the Bucks County Courier Times, reports Michele Haddon for the publication.
Residents noted that they love Jo-Jo’s fun variety of flavors, kind staff and high-quality ingredients.
The family business began in 1989 and, since 2021, has been run by Joe Micklas. Though he initially dreamed of a different career, he quickly found a passion for selling and making soft serve.
“I love what I do,” said Micklas. “We’ve been around for 37 years, and we have a great product and thankfully people recognize that.”
Alongside a variety of homemade ice cream, customers can enjoy water ice, Dole Whip, gelatis, milkshakes, sundaes and ice cream cakes. Some of their most popular flavors are chocolate overload ice cream, black raspberry soft serve and brownie batter ice cream.
Micklas noted that the shop wouldn’t be what it is without the staff who work there, who make the experience that much better for customers.
“They’ve all become friends. And I think that goes through the window, the customers see that. It’s like a family, it really is,” he said.
Those looking for a sweet treat can check out Jo-Jo’s every day from 12 PM to 10 PM until Oct. 30.
