Penn Community Bank continues its long-standing commitment to community investment.

From January to June 2025, the bank and its charitable arm, the Penn Community Bank Foundation, have invested $535,000 in grants to 177 nonprofit and community organizations.

These funds, coupled with hundreds of hours of team member volunteerism, are expected to impact tens of thousands of residents across Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh, and Northampton counties.

“At our core, we believe banking is about more than transactions; it’s about transformation,” said Bernard Tynes, EVP/Chief Consumer Banking Officer of Penn Community Bank. “Investing in our community isn’t just part of our mission, but it is our mission. Whether it’s supporting small businesses, funding affordable housing, or championing local initiatives, we see every investment as a way to build a stronger, more resilient future for everyone we serve.”

Investing in Local Impact

This quarter’s funding has supported a wide range of initiatives that align with the mission of the Penn Community Bank Foundation — fostering economic self-sufficiency, supporting local businesses, promoting financial literacy, and strengthening emergency services. Notable grants include:

  • Metro Esports: Through its Digital Bridge Builders initiative, Metro Esports is dedicated to bridging the digital divide by providing all communities with access to cutting-edge technology, gaming & education, and career development opportunities. By partnering with schools, community organizations, and corporate sponsors, Metro Esports empowers students and young creators with the tools, training, and resources needed to succeed in gaming, coding, content creation, financial and digital literacy. This initiative fosters overall growth in the tech and gaming industries, ensuring that talent from all backgrounds has a pathway to success in the digital economy.
  • Bucks County Children’s Museum (BCCM): In partnership with United Way Bucks County, BCCM’s new exhibit aims to creatively teach young children the importance of giving back to the community. Aligned with the Penn Community Bank Foundation’s philanthropic priorities, this collaborative project will help children practice solving a community problem, develop financial literacy skills, reinforce the importance of supporting those in need, and strengthen their sense of belonging.
  • Bristol Riverside Theatre ArtRageous Summer Camp: The Bristol Riverside Theatre’s ArtRageous Summer Camp fosters creativity, confidence, and community connection for students aged 7-17. The program not only addresses socio-emotional and academic challenges but also provides vital opportunities for artistic expression, mentorship, and family engagement.
  • St. Luke’s University Health Network Summer Meals Program: For seven consecutive years, the St. Luke’s Summer Meal Program addresses food insecurity from Allentown to Quakertown — areas where more than half of public school students qualify for free or reduced-price school lunch. Penn Community Bank’s continued sponsorship supports more than just meals, but expanded access to weekend food supplies, healthy food education, and engaging activities.

Additional nonprofit partners benefiting from this quarter’s investments include: Rolling Harvest Food Rescue, Northampton Community College Foundation, Garden of Health Inc., Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation, Vita Education Services Inc., Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, St. Luke’s University Health Network, Victory House of the Lehigh Valley, Bensalem Economic Development Corporation, Perkasie Rotary, and many more.
