Human Robot, the popular Philadelphia brewery that launched in Kensington in 2020, has expanded into Bucks County with a New Hope taproom and trading card shop combo, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.
Doubles, as the newcomer is called, held its grand opening on July 25.
The project is the result of a partnership between Human Robot’s Jake Atkinson and Keith Shore, a local artist and illustrator. Doubles was inspired by their shared love of the childhood pastime.
“I just remember being a collector in the mid-90s,” said Atkinson, who co-owns Human Robot with Ken Correll, Chris Roller and Andrew Foss. “Being a 10 year old, I couldn’t afford that much, so now it’s fun to go back and buy the cards I couldn’t before.”
The new spot occupies a 900-square-foot space that previously housed Great Barn Taproom, which closed in 2024 following a fire.
Doubles offers a selection of beers from its parent company, including its signature brew Milktube, along with vintage and modern packs of sports trading cards. Ready-to-drink canned cocktails, Pennsylvania wines, digestifs, bitters and amaros will also be available.
