Norwegian Cruise Line, which made its Philadelphia return in 2024, has announced that it is extending the Norwegian Pearl’s stay in the city, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The cruise line will be lengthening the Norwegian Pearl’s Philadelphia stay through October 2027, which offers a glimmer of hope behind the city’s prospects as a long-term cruise port.
Last summer, Norwegian Cruise Line announced that its Norwegian Jewel ship would offer cruises between Philadelphia and Bermuda, and between Philadelphia, New England, and Canada from April through October 2026.
It marked the official return of passenger lines to Philadelphia for the first time since 2011.
This return of cruises to Philadelphia ties into the multitude of events that are set to bring tourists from all over the world into the region.
The Norwegian Pearl will offer seven-day cruises to Bermuda, where it is going to be docked overnight between April 8, 2027 through Sept. 2, 2027.
On its return trip back to Philadelphia, the ship will make a stop in Norfolk, Virginia.
Between Aug. 29, 2027 and Oct. 17, 2027, it will host 11-day cruises between Philadelphia and Canada. There will also be stops in Boston and Quebec City, among other cities.
