Director of Major Giving

This is a newly created position charged with deepening relationships with new and existing leadership and major giving prospects; qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding high-level commitments; and furthering the objectives outlined in the strategic vision for Abington Friends School, Leading by Design: Education for a Changing World. This is an ideal opportunity for an authentic and mission-driven professional eager to make a significant mark on the success of a capital campaign, be involved in the life of a vibrant, creative community, and help to build and sustain a culture of philanthropy at AFS.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience, preferably in an independent school or educational setting, with a proven track record of cultivating and securing major and planned gifts. Knowledge of advanced fundraising techniques, including donor stewardship, is essential. The candidate will have the proven ability to manage projects and be able to work independently and on a team. This position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher and a candidate with strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills who is proficient with Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge software.
