Jefferson Health has expanded Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center’s footprint with its first Bucks County location in Langhorne, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The new medical oncology suite at Jefferson Bucks Hospital has 14 infusion chairs, 12 private treatment bays, one semi-private bay, and a designated space for clinical appointments.
With the addition of the Langhorne site, patients will be offered access to the latest cancer-fighting technology and a number of clinical trials, along with supportive care resources.
According to Brian Sweeney, president of Jefferson Health’s North Region, which includes Jefferson Bucks Hospital, the project was a response to the growing need for additional cancer services across the region.
The Langhorne medical oncology suite brings the total number of locations where Jefferson patients can access the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center to 11.
Last year, it became the 57th site in the nation to receive the National Cancer Institute designation as a comprehensive cancer institute, which is the highest recognition bestowed by the NCI to institutions.
