Pat’s Kings of Steaks in South Philadelphia is among the most legendary spots in the city and claims to be the birthplace of the famous sandwich.

Right across the street is Geno’s Steaks, which many believe to be the very best cheesesteak spot in the city.

Tony Luke’s near the South Philadelphia Sports Complex is another good one, beloved for the size and large portions of steak and cheese.
