Mitchell & Ness, the vintage sports apparel retailer, is in the process of likely moving its flagship Center City store to the other side of Broad Street, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
While the retailer has not disclosed the exact location for the new store, industry sources said Mitchell & Ness is in talks to lease a large building at 1513 Walnut Street that is currently the home of Brooks Brothers.
In a statement sent to the Philadelphia Business Journal, Mitchell & Ness said that as it looks to the future, it is “proud to continue providing the people of Philadelphia with a premium retail experience which will be located at a new home in Center City.”
Mitchell & Ness currently operates its flagship store in Midtown Village on the 1300 block of Walnut Street. It moved to the space in 2021 from its longtime home at 1201 Chestnut Street.
The 1513 Walnut Street building spans more than 16,000 square feet across three floors and a basement, according to real estate brokerage MSC, who has been marketing the property for lease. The space is much larger than the existing Mitchell & Ness store.
