Boondocks, a Nashville Honky Tonk, Coming to Glen Mills in the Fall

Boondocks Bar and Grill, a Nashville-style honky-tonk, is coming to Glen Mills from Philip and Kate Ferro, owners of the Chadds Ford Tavern.

The owners of the Chadds Ford Tavern are opening a Nashville honky-tonk with line dancing and live music at 1110 Baltimore Pike in Glen Mills, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Restaurateurs Philip and Kate Ferro are opening Boondocks Bar and Grill, in the former Hooters space in the fall.

It will be part of the Ferro’s Five Star Restaurant Group, which now includes Augustine Tavern in Delaware, Main Line Tavern in Paoli, Kings Tavern in Coatesville and Chadds Ford Tavern.

The Ferros are partnering with Chet Patel, who has invested in their other four suburban locations. Patel owns the building where the restaurant will open, along with a connected Comfort Inn & Suites Glen Mills-West Chester.

Also going in on the concept is local recording artist Brian McConnell, who will run the entertainment for Boondocks, bringing in local musicians and up-and-coming artists from Nashville.

Boondocks will have a large stage, a dance floor a centralized bar, and booth seating.

The rustic decor and neon lights will be similar to Nashville’s popular honky-tonks, a bar that primarily plays country music and offers dancing.

The menu will be Southern-inspired, with barbecue, catfish, ribs and chicken, along a Nasville-inspired drink menu.
