Wawa will have a strong presence in central Pennsylvania by 2029.

Wawa continues to leave its Delaware County nest as it takes up more territory in the rest of Pennsylvania.

Wawa’s central Pennsylvania expansion, with 40 more stores planned there by 2029, is part of a strategy to extend Wawa’s footprint further into the state, even as it expands nationally, writes Gianna for 94.5PST.

The first store in central Pennsylvania opened on Sept. 19 in Middletown, Dauphin County.

Other store locations should open by the end of 2024 in York, Dover, Williamsport, Hanover, and Enola, according to ABC27.

“We see Harrisburg up to State College, and I’ll say everything between and around it,” Wawa President Brian Schaller has said previously.

Wawa already has stores in Lehigh Valley, Berks and Lancaster counties, in addition to its stores closer to home.

Each new central Pennsylvania store is a $7 million investment and will employe about 35 associates, collectively creating 1,400 new jobs in the central Pennsylvania region.

For those living in central Pennsylvania who have been deprived of Wawa’s offerings of fresh hoagies, customizable coffee and an ever-growing array of late-night snacks and drinks, sit tight.

More coffees, more hoagies, and more gobblers are coming soon to a Wawa store near you.
