Penn Community Bank Exec Named as ‘City & State Pennsylvania’ Impact Award Winner
Bernard Tynes, Penn Community Bank’s Executive Vice President and Chief Experience and Impact Officer, has been named as a recipient of City & State Pennsylvania’s 2024 Impact Award.
The Impact Awards recognize Pennsylvania’s premier changemakers who are transforming their communities and the commonwealth for the greater good. Honorees represent diverse sectors including business, nonprofit, government, and advocacy, united by their commitment to driving positive change in Pennsylvania. The recognition celebrates Tynes’ leadership in expanding access to banking and lending services for historically underserved communities.
Tynes has emerged as one of the region’s youngest banking executives, driving growth and innovation at the nearly $3 billion institution while championing financial inclusion initiatives. Among his signature achievements is spearheading the THRIVE Community Development Plan, which creates targeted products and services designed to reach communities traditionally overlooked by mainstream banking. In addition to his role as Chief Experience and Impact Officer, Tynes directs the Penn Community Bank Foundation, overseeing hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual charitable contributions that further support community development and financial empowerment initiatives across the region.
