In the early hours of December 8, authorities were alerted to a multi-alarm fire at The Stone Barn restaurant.

The Stone Barn restaurant and venue was recently destroyed in a morning fire, writes Richard Gaw for Chester County Press

Several fire companies were called to the scene at 2:48 AM in Kennett Square, finding the longtime destination in a complete blaze.

According to Po-Mar-Lin Fire Department, who were first to arrive on scene, the other fire companies who helped expel the fire were Avondale Fire Company, Cochranville Fire Company, East Brandywine Fire Company, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester, and several more.

Although no one was harmed in the fire, nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution.

The Stone Barn opened in 1968, serving generations of families since the Thomforde family owned the property dating back to 1922. Gina Correnti, the events manager, created a GoFundMe for those who have since lost their jobs due to the fire.

The page has raised $1,400. A second GoFundMe, created by Maia Tolsdorf has raised $8,700.

Tolsdorf said, “Instead of preparing for wedding celebrations and holiday feasts, Alex, Franco, Charlene and Kevin are now facing an enormous rebuild.”
