New June Bakery is set to open its first brick-and-mortar location in Brewerytown on Saturday, December 7.

Four years after discovering her knack for baking, New June Bakery owner Noelle Blizzard is preparing to open her first brick-and-mortar store in Brewerytown, writes Jason Sheehan for Philadelphia Magazine.

“Opening New June’s first storefront is a return to my neighborhood, where it all began,” Blizzard said. “baking for my friends and neighbors, contributing to a special sense of shared community, with the joy only a delicious sweet treat from your tiny local bakery can offer.”

The new shop will feature many of Blizzard’s complex, fruit-forward cakes as full-size desserts, four-inch mini cakes, and by the slice.

Customers can expect her classics like the cardamom pistachio cream, vanilla sprinkle, French chocolate devils food, as well as some seasonal flavors. The latter includes olive oil pumpkin chocolate chip, peanut butter and strawberry-rhubarb jam, and spiced pear pie shortcake.

The menu, however, is far more robust if you can imagine that.

Some menu items will include banana tea cakes with salted caramel and tahini cream cheese frosting, Krispie cornflake marshmallow cookies, homemade candy cakes with chocolate ganache, caramelized honey pumpkin pie, carrot cake cheesecake, and dozens more.

“From day one, New June was developed with the guiding thought: ‘If I ever had a bakery, what would I want to see on the menu?” said Blizzard.
