Bob Wenrich and Fay Gable, a Lancaster County couple who divorced fifty years ago, have rekindled their romance and tied the knot again, writes Cathy Free for The Washington Post

The pair got married in 1951 when Gable was 16 and Wenrich was 21. The couple settled into a busy life in Lancaster County having four children over the years. However, after a rough patch, their marriage ended in 1975.

Both of them eventually remarried but remained on friendly terms.

After both of their second spouses passed away, their youngest daughter, Carol Smith, realized they seemed lonely, so she started inviting them to play cards with her family. Soon, sparks flew between the two and they started spending time alone together.

They took an excursion to the casino in Morgantown, where Wenrich won a jackpot on the penny slots.

“Fay was my good luck charm,” he said.

The couple began dating again, spending more time together.

“We reconnected like two teenagers,” said Gable. “We got to know each other all over again.”

On Dec. 8, the couple remarried, over seven decades after their first wedding. The newlyweds visited their favorite casino in Morgantown for their honeymoon.
