Philadelphia is Home to One of the Best Pizzerias in the World, New Ranking Says
50 Top Pizza has published its newest list of the 100 Best Pizzerias in the World, and a Philadelphia pizza shop found its way onto the list, writes Jeremy Repanich for Robb Report.
That Philly shop is Pizzeria Beddia, which ranked No. 13 on the list of the best pizzerias in the world. It trails just two other pizza shops in the United States — Una Pizza Napoletana in New York City, which ranked at the very top, and Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco.
Philadelphia’s Pizzeria Beddia, the Fishtown pizzeria is known for being a pizza and natural wine destination, with an exterior that stands out thanks to the flashing neon green peace sign above the restaurant.
The organization behind the annual 50 Top Pizza rankings began in 2014. It was launched by a trio of Italians — Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and Albert Sapere — who wanted to shine a light on exceptional pizza pies.
The rankings have been released each year since 2017, and are now determined by surveys and in-person visits to pizzerias nationwide.
