Chester County is preparing to get another Trader Joe's location.

Trader Joe’s is planning to open its second store in Chester County in Berwyn, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal

The new store will be located at 550 Lancaster Avenue, in a roughly 14,000-square-foot space that was previously occupied by a CVS Pharmacy in the Berwyn Shopping Center. The opening date is still unknown.

The popular grocery chain’s stores typically range from 8,000 to 15,000 square feet, well below the average 40,000-square-foot size that most grocery stores have.

Trader Joe’s, often referred to as the “neighborhood grocery store” chain, is best known for its unique products sold under its own brand.

The Berwyn location is the second addition in the Philadelphia region that has been announced so far this year by the company. The chain said in June that it planned to open a King of Prussia location later this year.

The two new stores will bring the number of Trader Joe’s locations in Greater Philadelphia to 13. Currently, the company operates seven stores in southeastern Pennsylvania and two each in Northern Delaware and South Jersey
