Norwegian Cruise Line to Make Philadelphia Its New Homeport in 2026
In 2026, Norwegian Cruise Line will become the first cruise line to sail from Philadelphia in years, writes Alison Fox for Travel + Leisure.
That year, the cruise line will sail to Bermuda, Canada, and New England.
The Norwegian Jewel kicks off its voyages on April 16, 2026, offering seven- to nine-day trips to Bermuda. Later in the fall, cruises to Canada and New England will be added, with those journeys lasting 10 to 11 days.
“We remain committed to delivering more experiences for our guests to create unforgettable memories, so they can vacation better with us,” said David J. Herrera, the president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “We are particularly proud to partner with PhilaPort to launch cruising in the area, making it even more accessible to the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region.”
Norwegian Cruise Line will sail from SouthPort Marine Terminal Complex through October 17, 2026.
The Norwegian Jewel can accommodate 2,330 passengers. It offers its guests plenty of entertainment options, including Le Cirque Bijou shows and a 1950s-themed bar overlooking the pool.
Gov. Josh Shapiro said the incoming cruises will give “millions of Pennsylvanians and passengers from across the region… another reason to visit Philadelphia’s waterfront.”
