New Hope Makes Travel + Leisure’s List of Ten Best Small Towns Nationwide
Travel + Leisure named New Hope one of the ten best small towns in the nation, bestowing upon it the award for “Best Arts + Culture Town,” writes Stephanie Farr for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The popular travel magazine noted that this quirky Bucks County town was the “birthplace of early-20th-century Pennsylvania Impressionism,” a home to the founder of the American Studio Craft movement George Nakashima, and a place where several famous stars like Liza Minnelli and Robert Redford performed at the start of their careers.
Travel + Leisure also praised New Hope for being one of the nation’s most LGBTQ+-friendly places and a home to numerous creatives whose contributions add to the borough’s “enduring natural beauty, long-established artistic culture, and quirky charm.”
“New Hope is packed end to end with idiosyncratic and intellectual allure, all crammed into just 1.4 utterly charming square miles,” wrote the magazine.
The town also boasts many quaint shops and unique bars and restaurants, a plethora of traditional bed and breakfasts, and a working scenic passenger train on the New Hope Railroad, among many other attractions.
