Millstone Spirits Group Plans to Expand to Larger Facility in Northeast Philly, See Seven-Fold Production Increase

Millstone Spirits Group, the owner of New Liberty Distillery and Faber, has closed its Olde Kensington production facility and tasting room to move into a larger facility in Northeast Philadelphia.

Millstone Spirits Group is working on expanding into a larger space in Northeast Philadelphia and increasing its annual spirits production by over 700 percent, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The 11-year-old Philadelphia company plans on moving into the new 35,000-square-foot facility before the end of the month.

Millstone Spirits Group is the owner of New Liberty Distillery and Faber. New Liberty Distillery is best known for its New Liberty and Kinsey whiskeys and other limited release spirits. Its Common Well spirits line includes vodka, rum, whiskey, gin, silver tequila, and triple sec.

Milestone also manufactures the Faber brand of spirits, a ready-to-drink canned cocktail brand Escape Goat, and a line of liqueurs that recently underwent a brand refresh.

As part of the move, the company has closed its New Liberty Distillery production facility and tasting room in Olde Kensington, while the bottle shop remains open temporarily for pickup of online orders.

The move into a bigger space was a necessity, said CEO Robert Cassell.

“At some point we just needed space,” he said. “Our ability to do product development, innovation, some of these other parts, was just getting stifled by not having space.”

The new facility will have three distillation stills and two high-speed canning lines.
