See Which Bucks County Towns Have the Highest and Lowest Homeowner Tax Bills
In Bucks County, the average homeowner tax bill is around $503 in 2024, but varies widely across towns, with some paying as little as $35 and others facing bills nearer to $1,600, writes Chris Ullery for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The tax bills are determined by the average assessed value of residential properties and the millage rates that are set by each municipality. A mill represents $1 for every $1,000 of a property’s tax assessed value. Millage rates range from 1.625 mills in Quakertown to 51.39 mills in Bristol Borough.
The highest average homeowner taxes in Bucks County are in Solebury, where homeowners pay $1,599 in property taxes, based on an average assessed value of $64,467 and a tax rate of 24.8102 mills.
New Britain Borough follows with a $1,125 property tax, based on an average assessed value of $26,437 and a rate of 42.55 mills.
Meanwhile, the town with the lowest average homeowner taxes is Quakertown, where homeowners pay just $32 in property tax based on an average assessed value of $19,559 and a rate of 1.625 mills.
