Doylestown Dancer Taking Stage with Radio City Rockettes This Holiday Season
The Radio City Rockettes are preparing for a busy holiday season, and among them is an amazing dancer from Doylestown, reports Janelle Burrell for CBS News Philadelphia.
Emily Willett is currently busy working on the Christmas spectacular, which opened on November 8 and will run through January 5. This is her first season with the famous dance company.
“It’s honestly been such a dream come true,” said Willett. “But we do rehears quite a bit so we feel extremely ready. We’ve rehearsed for about six hours a day, six days a week, leading up to the show so it’s very rigorous.”
Having a lot of experienced dancers willing to show her the ropes has helped Willett fit in more easily.
“Honestly, it’s been so rewarding and everyone who’s been in the line before has been so helpful for me in my first year,” she said.
This year, the show will introduce several new elements, such as the Dance of the Frost Fairies, while also still performing traditional favorites such as the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers, that has been a staple of the show since 1933.
