Following a short hiatus, the Bucks County Book Festival will return to Doylestown next year, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times

Festival organizers held a fundraiser called “A Taste of Book Festival” last week to help strengthen support and interest ahead of the event’s full relaunch in May.

The event was started six years ago by founder Elle Green as a celebration of literacy aimed to inspire a love of reading while connecting readers, authors, and illustrators through numerous events and activities, such as meet-and-greets, panel discussions, workshops, and much more.

But when Green moved to California and the festival lost two more of its board members, it was uncertain if it would be able to move forward. So the three remaining board members took to social media to see what the community wanted, and they received strong support.

Today, there are 40 volunteers working on bringing the festival back.

“These are amazing people, diverse, multitalented, committed to bringing the festival back, revamping, renewing but bringing it back,” said board co-chair Glenda Childs. “And I’m very happy to be a part of that group.”
