A 5-bedroom home in Springfield, bought when it was still under construction, is for sale.

Dee Bhattachara really planned ahead when she went shopping for her Springfield home, writes Paul Jablow for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

She spotted a Springfield location where construction of a house was just starting.

“I grabbed it as they were starting to build.”

Unlike most home buyers, that allowed her to give significant in put on the Springfield home’s design decisions.

The medical technologist is the first and only owner of the five-bedroom home. She moved there in 2001 and raised a family.

Now retired, she’s looking to downsize and has put the home up for sale.

The 3,069-square-foot home is in a cul-de-sac.

There’s a living room, dining room, a first-floor family room, two full bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, a deck, a two-car garage, a large finished basement, a front porch and a second-floor deck.

The kitchen has an island and double pantry closets.

The second floor primary bedroom includes a bathroom with separate shower and tub and a double vanity with two sinks.

The basement has a bar, powder room, utility area, and unfinished storage space with windows.

The house is listed by Michael Gennett of Keller Williams Real Estate — Media for $650,000.

Find out the other rooms in this Springfield house in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
