Bucks County Couple Find Perfect Vacation Sanctuary for Entire Family in Ocean City Beach Home

Bucks County residents Chuck and Linda Ormsby find perfect getaway place for their family of 17 in an oceanfront Ocean City house.

Bucks County residents Chuck and Linda Ormsby found the perfect getaway place for their family of 17 in an oceanfront Ocean City house, writes Terri Akman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The couple bought the home in 2018 when their realtor insisted they see it before it was even listed. The Ormsbys already owned a smaller home nearby. However, with their three children and nine grandchildren, the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom place was a much better fit.

The home was completely rebuilt by previous owners after it was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The family occupies the bottom half of the duplex.

The Ormsby’s like to spend as much time as they can at the oceanfront home. Often, they are accompanied by their children and grandchildren.

The Ocean City house features a cozy family room where everybody congregates to relax and watch movies, a bonus room used as a play space, and a charming kitchen with upscale appliances and a wall of windows facing the ocean.

“With a family of 17, you spend a lot of time in the kitchen,” said Linda. “I wanted a house with a view of the ocean from the kitchen.”
