Annual Fall Festival at Froehlich’s Farm & Garden Center Will Not Go Forward Due to Legal Dispute with Buckingham
Due to an ongoing legal dispute with Buckingham Township, Froehlich’s Farm & Garden Center said it would not go forward with its annual fall festival, writes Jess Rohan for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The farm announced its decision was related to “recent developments” with the township that affect its “ability to host any events.”
According to Brian Stover, a fourth-generation owner of the property, the township refused to allow the festival without a permit at a recent court hearing. An injunction earlier this year also prohibits the farm from holding any events pending the outcome of a court case.
In the past, the fall festival was over multiple weekends during the season. It featured live music, alcohol vendors, and many other activities.
While the township argued in court that the festival violates zoning laws for the AG-1 agricultural district for the farm, they countered that the festivals were permitted as rural enterprise activities.
In addition, Stover said that the farm has been holding fall festivals since before the events ordinance’s existence, meaning they are “grandfathered in.”
