Chester County natives Kelly Welch and Michael Regan met on New Year's Eve in 2014, later deciding to spend the rest of their lives together.

For Chester County natives Kelly Welch and Michael Regan, their love story was the right person, wrong time, but they managed to find their way back to each other to wed on May 14, 2022, at SS. Simon and Jude Parish in West Chester, writes Kellie Patrick Gates for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Welch, who is from West Chester, and Regan, who is from Downingtown, met on New Year’s Eve in 2014 while celebrating with friends. Although surrounded by nearly 30 people, they only had eyes for each other.

Yet after New Year’s, they went separate ways for eight months until fate brought them together in Conshohocken. Welch wanted to be more than friends, but Regan wasn’t ready at that time, even though he had feelings for her.

Finally, in the summer of 2016, the two went out for dinner and discovered that they were meant for each other.

Regan admires “the way she grounds me and our relationship.” Meanwhile, Welch loves that “he’s very loyal and supportive.”
