The designer couple Aleksandra Jakubowski and Tomasz Kiosewski have transformed an early 1990s Ottsville house into their dream home, writes Terri Akman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The couple fell in love with the two-story home as soon as they saw it, but they knew it would need updating – and that was exactly what they were looking for.

“We wanted something we could renovate and put our finishing touches on,” said Jakubowski.

The pair have a knack for interior design and were excited to get started. They did the majority of the work themselves. The work took around three months.

The couple renovated the kitchen, sunroom, and bathrooms, installed new doors and floors, repainted and wallpapered most of the walls, and replaced the light fixtures.

In the kitchen, the pair added a 10-by-5-foot quartz island, Café by GE appliances, and tons of storage. They opted for black-and-cream decor for the sunroom, highlighted by the black baby grand piano.

Jakubowski is a firm believer that you do not need a lot of money to get a rich look. As a result, for furniture and decor, she mixed expensive pieces from stores like Restoration Hardware with less expensive items from Wayfair and Target.
