Beautiful Bucks County hiking trails offer the perfect opportunity to fully enjoy the crisp air and crunchy leaves of fall, writes Maureen Rayburn for Mommy Poppins.

Luckily, there are several Bucks County hiking trails that are family-friendly and can accommodate family members of all ages – including those in strollers.

Nockamixon State Park in Quakertown is not only known for its excellent fishing, but it also offers fantastic family hiking opportunities. The Sterner Mill hiking trail is great for smaller kids. It is reserved for foot traffic and offers simple loops that lead down to the lake and back. Other more rugged and rocky trails in the park could provide a good challenge to older kids.

Tyler State Park in Newtown offers gorgeous trails that lead families through stunning countryside and along the Neshaminy Creek. Families can enjoy four miles of gravel hiking and ten miles of paved trails.

Meanwhile, Peace Valley Park in New Britain Township is great for families with kids on wheels, thanks to paved paths that go around Lake Galena. There are also picnic areas and park benches for breaks.
