Morrisville Farm Receives Grant for Tree-Planting from GIANT Company
The GIANT Company, in partnership with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, announced the recipients of its 2024 Healing the Planet grant program, allocating $108,243 to support tree-planting initiatives across the state, writes Mac Bell for WHTM.
Among the 32 grant recipients is Snipes Farm and Education Center in Morrisville, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainable farming and community education.
This grant will help further their mission of reconnecting people with the land and promoting environmental stewardship.
Other nearby beneficiaries include Jenkintown’s Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership and the Open Land Conservancy in Malvern and Berwyn.
Founded in 2008, Snipes Farm and Education Center has deep roots in Bucks County, with the Snipes family farming in the area since 1688.
The farm serves as an “outdoor classroom,” providing educational opportunities that emphasize sustainable practices and the importance of preserving natural resources.
