The Pennsylvania Treasury returned more than $103,000 worth of unclaimed property to residents of Bucks County earlier this week.

The Pennsylvania Treasury returned more than $103,000 worth of unclaimed property to residents of Bucks County, according to a staff report from The Citizens’ Voice.

Residents were able to search for their unclaimed property at two events that were held on August 9 in Lower Southampton Township and Warminster Township. The events were hosted by Sen. Frank Farry, Rep. Joe Hogan, Rep. Kristin Marcell, and Rep. K.C. Tomlinson.

“For the second year in a row, we’ve returned more than $100,000 to Bucks County residents in a single day,” said Treasurer Stacy Garrity.

“Many people do not know they have unclaimed property and being able to offer this service and finding over $100,000 for our constituents in one day is remarkable,” added Farry.

During the events, residents were also able to learn more about other programs offered by Treasury, such as the PA 529 College and Career Savings Program, Keystone Scholars, and PA ABLE.

Unclaimed property includes dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, forgotten stocks, and insurance policies, as well as tangible items such as forgotten safe deposit box contents among other things.
