Bucks County Community College has secured a $2 million federal grant to expand its clean energy job training programs, writes Emily Neil for WHYY.
The grant would allow the college to expand their manufacturing apprenticeship programs and introduce a clean energy HVAC technician program.
It aims to bolster the college’s metalwork and industrial maintenance pre-apprenticeship courses.
Students will work with over 170 companies to help lower costs and carbon emissions, with graduates expected to earn at least $27 per hour in their first year.
This funding at Bucks County Community College is a key step in creating more job opportunities in the clean energy sector.
The funding is part of a $24 million Bipartisan Infrastructure Law initiative supporting ITAC’s training for energy efficiency in small- and medium-sized businesses.
