Wawa Reimburses Richboro Customers for Contaminated Fuel Damages
In a swift response to a recent incident, Wawa has committed to reimbursing customers whose vehicles were damaged by contaminated fuel purchased at their Richboro location, writes Erin McCarthy for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The company announced this week that affected customers could see repair reimbursements soon.
The incident, which occurred last week, caused numerous vehicles to break down after refueling. Local mechanics estimated repair costs ranging from $3,000 to $4,500, with at least one case nearing $10,000 for a newer SUV.
Wawa attributed the problem to a fuel equipment issue affecting one tank at the Richboro store. The issue has since been resolved, and the company is investigating further with its equipment manager.
Marissa O’Neill of Churchville shared that she received good news from Wawa’s claims department, which assured her that the company would cover the costs of her rental car and repairs. This reassurance comes after nine stressful days without her vehicle.
Wawa continues to encourage any affected customers to file claims through their fuel guarantee page. The company has repeatedly apologized for the inconvenience and is committed to addressing all related expenses.
