NYT: Norristown Actress Maria Bello Finds Forever Love with Michelin-starred Chef
Norristown actress Maria Bello owes her journey to true love with Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn to the “three C’s”: cancer, COVID, and commitment, writes Sadiba Hasan for The New York Times.
The pair first met in 2018 after Bello called Crenn to see if she could get a table with her friend at her fully booked restaurant. The chef made space for the actress, leading to their first meeting.
“She was so kind, we knew that night we’d be friends forever,” said Bello.
After a few months, they started dating, but Crenn was soon diagnosed with breast cancer. She told Bello to give her a way out, but the actress’ response was: “Let’s do cancer.”
After nine months of chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and a double mastectomy, the two women were more in love than ever.
Once COVID hit, the couple kept moving their relationship forward, alternating between their respective homes in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
On April 7, the couple made the full commitment by getting married in the backyard of their Los Angeles home. They celebrated the marriage on May 12 in front of 140 guests in Baja California, Mexico.
