Spearhead Project Earth Revitalizes Yardley Community with Major Environmental Initiative
Spearhead Project Earth has completed the SPE Project Yardley, transforming the area adjacent to the Veterans Memorial on River Road into a vibrant and welcoming community space, according to Spearhead Global.
This significant environmental initiative, funded by a $10,000 grant from the American Water Foundation, tackled erosion issues and enhanced local biodiversity.
The project saw dedicated volunteers and local organizations join forces to clear overgrown brush, remove trash, and plant native species.
Key contributions from Kona Compost and Shawn’s Tree Service ensured the health and longevity of the new plantings and existing trees.
Additionally, improvements in accessibility, including a new railing and added seating, now offer residents and visitors a scenic spot to enjoy the Delaware River.
SPE will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 8, 2024, from 2 PM to 5 PM to celebrate the project’s completion. Attendees will receive free snacks, water, and an SPE hat.
