Assistant Director of Strategic Communications

This position serves as the campus’s primary storyteller and web editor and is responsible for writing and editing news and marketing content and announcements; managing website content; and social media. He/she will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and alumni, most commonly in interviews that serve as a basis for stories. The person will also drive inbound marketing efforts through the development of content for communications plans, announcements, email newsletters, and more.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, as well as at least three years of professional experience in marketing and communications, preferably in higher education. He/she is a storyteller (with the ability to identify various stories and bring them to fruition) and also has experience disseminating content via social media and newsletters, as well as with web content management.

Administrative Assistant

This position manages and coordinates daily operations and provides a high level of administrative and financial support. He/she provides overall administrative support to the Chancellor and the Campus Development office. The person prepares financial and operational reports and participates in preparation of short- and long-range budget plans; reviews and approves financial transactions within established guidelines; and coordinates and/or manages a wide variety of special projects.

The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree or higher, as well as four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills are a necessity. Occasional travel to University Park is also expected.
