Bucks County-raised Michael Smedley distinctly remembers playing for the little league Northampton Baseball team in Richboro as a youngster.

Northampton’s Michael Smedley has pleasant memories of playing for the little league Northampton Baseball team in Richboro as a youngster, and now his mother is making a movie about it, according to a report from NBC 10 Philadelphia.

The team was rusty at first, according to Smedley, who said that they could not hit or swing to save their lives. But they eventually figured it out and won a championship.

“It literally was like something out of a movie,” said Smedley.

Michael, who is blind, did not let his vision impairment stop him from playing the game.

Kristin Smedley, Michael’s mother, says that this moment was a story she always wanted to tell.

Kristin transitioned from being a teacher to becoming a filmmaker, letting her son’s story guide her creative journey. She’s currently producing “Curveball,” with Shadowbox Films an eagerly anticipated project.
