Bucks County Leaders Lace Up Dancing Shoes for Healthcare Fundraiser
Six Bucks County community leaders are getting ready for “Dancing For Bucks,” a fundraiser that will benefit the independently run Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
The nonprofit provides free healthcare and social services to low-income, uninsured residents of Bucks County.
The group has been taking dance lessons for the past several weeks at the Fred Astaire Studio in Doylestown. They want to be fully prepared for the gala evening that will be held on March 1 at The Warrington in Doylestown Township.
“It’s going to be a beautiful fusion of philanthropy and community partners coming together to have fun and fundraise,” said Meri L. Gaumond, executive director of the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic.
In addition to practicing dancing, the participants, who include Jeane Vidoni, the CEO and President of Penn Community Bank, and Barbara Beans of the Fred Beans Auto Group, have been busy fundraising.
Gaumond is also encouraging the public to vote online for their favorite dancer by making a donation underneath their names.
“We have had people donate as little as $1 up to $5,000,” said Gaumond.
