PNC Bank is closing its doors in Morrisville, joining dozens of other locations in ceasing operations, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

This closure comes just a week after PNC Bank announced that it is investing $1 billion to open 100 more branches and renovate 1,200 existing locations for the next four years.

The bank closed 30 branches this year alone, and 77 locations in the first quarter of 2023.

PNC’s planned expansion aims to tap into geographical markets it doesn’t currently have a footprint in.

The bank plans to open locations in Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Denver, and Miami.

The branch in Haddon Heights, New Jersey is also slated to close.
