Several Bucks County towns ranked among the top 100 safest cities in Pennsylvania, according to a data-based report.

Bucks County has ranked near the top in purchasing power in the state of Pennsylvania. An article from SmartAsset recently published their eighth annual study on the places with the most purchasing power.

To find the places where the average living expenses are most favorable, SmartAsset looked at the cost of living relative to residents’ income. This allowed them to determine the purchasing power in each county in Pennsylvania, as well as across the country.

The results showed that Bucks County ranked fourth in the state this year, with a per capita income of $80,627 and a cost of living of $48,671. Its purchasing power index of 40.21 percent puts the county at No. 176 nationally.

Bucks County ranked third in per capita income, which is significantly higher than the state average of $61,700. The per capita income index of 29.84 percent placed the county among the top 100 in the nation at No. 82.

The county also placed at No. 65 based on the cost of living. This made it the county with the third-highest cost of living statewide. The average cost of living in Pennsylvania is $37,703. Nationally, the county came in at No. 3,019.
