Philadelphia Magazine’s 2024 list of the 50 Best Restaurants in Philadelphia is out, and two Montgomery County restaurants made the grade, writes Kae Lani Palmisano, Regan Fletcher Stephens, Jason Sheehan, and Maddy Sweitzer-Lammé.

Defining “the best” restaurant is never easy because everyone’s definition may be a little different. This ranking tries to encapsulate all those different meanings including a command of their cuisine, being willing to experiment with their menus, and the roles they play in their community.

Here are the two Montgomery County eateries on the list.

Autana in Ardmore earned the 24th spot. A Venezuelan restaurant at 4 Station Road, it has grown from a small pop-up to a bustling restaurant.

The father-daughter team offers home-cooked meals perfectly executed. Arepa and pernil sandwiches are popular items on the menu.

Lark in Bala Cynwyd earned the 36th spot. A New American restaurant at 611 Righters Ferry Road, it offers international cuisine that satiates not only the belly but the soul too.

Popular items on the menu include marinated olives and focaccia, escargots in vichyssoise butter with potato confit, and pasta with corn, blue crab, or thyme honey.

White Yak in Roxborough and June BYOB in Collingswood, New Jersey also made the list.
