Sister-Owned Be WellFed Meal Service Company Began in Mother’s Bucks County Kitchen
The origin of sister-owned healthy meal service company WellFed began in Bucks County, writes Ali Mohsen for BillyPenn.
Adrianna Hecht and Laurenza Giosa started the business in their mother’s kitchen in 2020, but their success has now landed them a 3,000-square-foot space in Philly’s Northern Liberties equipped with a cafe and a mini market.
WellFed has rotating menus, which are posted every Monday. All meals are gluten-free, dairy-free and made in-house.
Some favorites include the “eggroll in a bowl” which is made of ground-turkey-and-cauliflower-rice, or the shredded buffalo chicken with sweet potato.
The sisters emphasize health and wellness in their everyday lives. Hecht is a certified yoga instructor, and Giosa is certified in dance and used to run a group fitness studio with her mother in Bensalem.
The service can deliver within a 40-mile radius and is offered in subscription packages of five, ten, or twenty meals or can be ordered individually for $13.
The subscription packages range from $60-$240.
For those opting out of delivery, meals can be picked up in several nearby gyms or at the grab-and-go section of WellFed’s location.
