From Bucks County Trainer to Football Trailblazer, Maggie Bermudez Breaks Glass Ceilings
Bucks County personal trainer Maggie Bermudez is breaking glass ceilings as a professional football player, according to The Reporter.
As a rookie on the Philadelphia Phantomz Football team, her athletic journey was not an easy one, as she often battled stereotypes against her gender.
The team, which Bermudez sees as more of a “sisterhood” will begin practice this week ahead of their first game in Jacksonville, Florida on April 6.
Their first home game is set for April 13 soon after.
First established in 2015, the team has members from all across the United States and Mexico. A member of the Women’s National Football Conference, The Phantomz are considered the only women’s tackle team in Philadelphia.
In addition to trailblazing in the athletic field, The Phantomz are also focused on community service.
