Tina Fey used an Upper Darby friend's name Glen Coco, slightly misspelled as Glen Cocco, in her film 'Mean Girls'.

Tina Fey’s favorite line from her 2004 movie “Mean Girls” uses the name of someone she grew up with in Upper Darby.

That line? “You go Glen Coco!”.

Fey talked about the film while promoting an upcoming movie musical version due out Jan. 12, writes Rosa Cargagena for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Glen Cocco (note the slightly different spelling) is a 61-year-old Los Angeles film editor. He was friends with the Fey family.

Cocco and Fey’s older brother Peter went to Upper Darby High School and Temple University together.

In the movie, the line comes from Damien Leigh while he’s handing out candy canes to high schoolers.

The quote stayed in the script, moving from film to stage musical and now a film musical.

“It’s just my brother’s friend’s name…and now I’ve ruined his life,” Fey joked.

Not so, Cocco said.  He’s used to people reciting “Mean Girls” to him and seeing his name misspelled on T-shirts and mugs.

“I get a laugh sometimes when I purchase something using my credit card,” he told Yahoo. “There are a lot of different generations exposed to the movie, so sometimes it’s inescapable,” he said.
