Depeche Mode Inspired Art Exhibit at Bucks County Community College is a Must-See Event

By

A new exhibit at the Hicks Art Center Gallery at the Bucks County Community College in Newtown pays tribute to Depeche Mode’s album “Construction Time Again,” reports Jennaphr Frederick for FOX 29 Philadelphia.

The exhibit “takes its name from the 1983 Depeche Mode studio album of the same name, “said exhibitions Associate Clifford Eberly, “and in the song ‘Construction Time Again’ the lyrics refer to nature responding to men’s presence and what’s happened in the environment. So I took that as an inspiration for the title of the show.”

One of the artists whose work is being exhibited is Gwen Kerber. Her art is built around the basis of looking and observing what surrounds us in the environment, which she then transforms into sculptures and paintings.

The sculptures she creates are “slightly irregularly shaped because I want them to feel like a fragment of nature,” said Kerber.

The exhibition will be on view through March 9. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday.
