Delaware Valley University and Penn State Abington announced today that they have reached an agreement to create a “4 + 1 Pathway Program.”

This program will allow undergraduate criminal justice majors at Penn State Abington to start graduate coursework (up to 9 credits) at nearby DelVal in Doylestown during their senior year at Penn State Abington, at no additional charge.

These students may then complete their master’s degree with one to three additional years of study (21 credits) at DelVal’s prevailing tuition rates.

“Our institutions are delighted to offer a rigorous program designed to serve the best interests of our students. Criminal justice degrees can lead to many in-demand careers right here in the greater Philadelphia area, and this program offers qualified students an affordable option to achieve their goals close to home,” said Nicole Stokes, interim vice chancellor for Academic Affairs at Penn State Abington.

“We are delighted to launch this partnership with Penn State Abington and welcome their qualified undergraduate criminal justice students to complete their master’s degree at DelVal,” said Joseph Paris, Dean, School of Graduate and Professional Studies at DelVal.

“Many students plan to earn a master’s degree in their field and this articulation agreement allows them to start earning their advanced degree in their senior year of undergraduate study, saving them both time and money.”

There are minimum requirements, including qualifying minimum grade-point average, and students may take as long as three years to complete the graduate curriculum at DelVal.
