Curly’s Comfort Food of Levittown Wins Major Cheesesteak Competition

The fifth annual competition held by the organization, previous years saw several nearby cheesesteak shops take the top ranking.

A cheesesteak shop in Bucks County has been listed as the best in the region, a testament to the establishment’s popularity.

Curly’s Comfort Food, located at 1140 Bristol Oxford Valley Road in Levittown, has been named the winner of Philadelphia Beautiful’s Cheesesteak Competition.

The fifth annual competition held by the organization, previous years saw several nearby cheesesteak shops take the top ranking, including Pudge’s (2022), Dalessandro’s (2021), John’s Roast Pork (2020), and Jim’s South Street (2019).

Topping a total of 32 establishments in and around the Philadelphia region, some runner-ups include:

3) Jay’s Steak & Hoagie Joint

4) Donkey’s Place

5) Chubby’s Steaks

6) Steve’s Prince of Steaks

“Again thank you to our community for making this so much fun!!!” Philadelphia Beautiful said on its Facebook page. “Get out there and support these fantastic businesses!!!”

Owner Michael Sarian uses a technique where he layers meat, then cheese, then more meat, and then cheese again. This distributes everything evenly and results in a lovely substance that is somehow both meat and cheese at once.
