Step into a Dickensian Christmas at Byers’ Choice Museum in Chalfont
Byers’ Choice Christmas Museum in Chalfont is the perfect place to visit for a festive and free holiday-themed experience, writes Julianne Buonocore for The Literary Lifestyle.
The museum is filled with Christmas displays to view, including some that you can even participate in.
The attraction is located in the headquarters of Byers’ Choice, a family-owned company that has created handmade Carolers for more than four decades.
The store welcomes you with a gift shop and a small movie theater, after which you will see an immersive London cobblestone street. The street will take you to the museum displays.
Some of them depict beautiful dinners while others give you a chance to play dress up with Victorian garb and grab a few photos reminiscent of a Christmas inspired by Charles Dickens.
There are also several rooms of themed Carolers displays populated with hundreds of figurines that are placed in various scenes, such as a visual re-telling of ‘A Christmas Carol‘ and ‘The Nutcracker’.
You can even observe the Carolers being handcrafted from the Observation Deck in real time.
Finally, The Créche Collection has more than 200 Nativity scenes from around the world.
